About Us

Our Mission:

The Religion and Conflict Transformation program prepares religious leaders to become a resource for peace in a multi-cultural, multi-faith world.

Who we are:

The Religion and Conflict Transformation (RCT) program is a seminary-based program in theologically-informed conflict transformation aimed at training ministers and other religious leaders in the theology, theory, and practice of faith-based conflict transformation in the church and in the world. The program is offered to students enrolled in degree programs as well as to students in non-degree programs seeking to advance their education and receive training and certification in the area of religion and conflict transformation. The RCT program welcomes all religious leaders, including: Pastors and lay persons, Prison chaplains, Military chaplains, Missionaries, Non-governmental organization professionals, and Facilitators of conflict transformation.

The RCT Program is run in collaboration and partnership with The JustPeace Center for Mediation and Conflict Transformation; The Boston Theological Institute; and Boston University School of Theology.

Program Leadership:

The Program in Conflict Transformation at the Boston University School of Theology is directed by a team of highly accomplished faculty members, with deep and wide experience in the theory and practice of conflict transformation and peace-building in religious contexts.
