Sally Zang
MS in Business Analytics Associate, Credit Senior Officer“The MSBA program helped me to learn to quickly extract useful information from large data pools and gave me the critical thinking skill to further analyze information from the dataset.”
Sally Zang came to Questrom to gain the necessary quantitative and analytical skills she needed to become a qualified risk management professional. What she left with was a new career.
Sally had an undergraduate degree in business from Rutgers and experience as a credit analyst with the Bank of China when she enrolled in the Questrom MSBA. Before she graduated, she attended a BU career fair, where she met an alum who connected her with the career opportunity she was seeking.
While Sally was at Silicon Valley Bank in Palo Alto, California, she provided multiple financial solutions to venture capital and innovation companies. As a dedicated credit analyst, she analyzed risk accurately to help both client and company find risk mitigation. She also worked diligently for early-stage and mid-stage companies’ debt financing, and data analysis of startup financials, specifically for liquidity levels.
“The MSBA program helped me learn to quickly extract useful information from large data pools and gave me the critical thinking skill to further analyze information from the dataset,” Sally says. “I didn’t expect so many group projects in the data analytics program, but they really enhanced my teamwork ability.”
Today, Sally is at JPMorgan in Hong Kong as an Associate, Credit Senior Officer within the Credit Risk team, and is looking forward to staying connected and contributing to the MSBA community.
