The program curriculum is designed to combine a strong education in the core functions of health sector management with the flexibility to obtain an enhanced understanding and skill set with the student’s particular areas of interest.  The curriculum provides a more developed approach to 1) build on the functional skills of the core MBA curriculum, 2) provide targeted understanding of the nature of the health sector, and the application of those basic skills to the sector, and 3) provide even greater flexibility to address specialized interests within the sector, whether health service delivery, life science products, consulting, or any other focused area.  The following information on this site encompasses the new curriculum.

Key Course Elements:

  • Case Method. Case analysis applies concepts in real-world situations to create useable skills.
  • Guest lectures. The program draws on the presence of leading national organizations, in the life sciences, service delivery, information technology, and public policy. Senior management staff comes to class to discuss real-life challenges and opportunities.
  • Classroom exercises. Students are engaged in experiential planning and problem-solving to develop immediately applicable skills.
  • Team Learning is a key element, and involves group projects developed in and out of the classroom. Often these are some of the most important parts of the educational experience, and create a depth of experience useful in the job market.
