Questrom’s Master of Science in Management Studies (MSMS) degree program builds a bridge to business for recent non-business graduates.
MSMS students work on a collaborative team in a dedicated space to solve real problems with real companies in real time. It all happens in Boston, a city that’s launching the next generation of innovation in everything from technology to health care to nonprofits.
With the MSMS, you’ll pivot into a desirable career in business in only nine months. You’ll add valuable business expertise to your undergraduate skill set so you can make an even bigger impact in the field.
The Questrom MSMS degree program attracts students who are drawn to the business side of things, students who are natural leaders. They have a sharp intellect, a bias towards action, and confidence with the technical. Sound like you? The MSMS could be your perfect fit.
We consider the whole picture when reviewing applicants. Here are some things we look for:
- Current undergraduate senior or graduate of a non-business bachelor’s program within the past two years
- Academic performance in analytic or technical coursework
- Leadership experience in student or professional organizations
- Other extra-curricular activities
- Ability to articulate the value of this program in helping you achieve long-term goals
- Ability to demonstrate your skills or accomplishments through the submission of video essays
Ready to apply? Start here. Once your application is complete, you’ll be considered for an interview with one of the core MSMS faculty members. Your completed application should include a resume, responses to three video essays, unofficial undergraduate transcripts, and GMAT or GRE scores. Be sure to look over our admissions checklist for all the details you’ll need.
Feel free to contact us with any questions along the way. We want the admissions process to be as simple and transparent as possible. Reach out to the Graduate Admissions Office at (617) 353-2670 or email@example.com.
The Graduate Admissions Office keeps all records on file for one year. We welcome your re-application.
Each re-applicant is required to submit a new application form and fee ($125); an essay discussing updates or changes since the time of the previous application, as well as reasons for re-applying; an updated resume; a new letter of recommendation; official university-level transcripts (if the re-applicant has taken new coursework since the time of their first application); and updated GMAT or GRE results (if applicable).

To take advantage of this waiver, email firstname.lastname@example.org once your application is ready for submission with your name and CAS ID number stating that you are eligible for an application fee waiver. Once we process your request, you’ll receive a follow-up email with additional instructions to submit your application. DO NOT click “submit and pay for programs” prior to receiving these instructions.
Due to the high volume of applications we receive, your application fee waiver may take a few business days to process. If you submit this request before or on one of our application deadlines but do not receive a confirmation from us that same day, your application will still be considered on time for the deadline to which you applied.
GMAT/GRE Waiver Eligibility
We will consider your MS in Management Studies application without a GMAT or GRE score if you have taken some analytical coursework during your undergraduate studies (examples include: Intro to Macroeconomics, Elementary Statistics, Discrete Math for Engineering, Calculus for the Life and Social Sciences, Introduction to Computer Science, The Art and Science of Quantitative Reasoning, etc.)*.
Please note that you must formally request the GMAT/GRE waiver prior to submitting your application by emailing email@example.com with the necessary documents listed below:
- All unofficial transcripts from any institution from which you’ve earned a degree or taken 12 or more credits
*You may not request a waiver if you have already taken the exam and requested your scores be sent to Boston University Questrom School of Business. We will consider GMAT/GRE waivers for the MS in Management Studies only.
The decision to grant the GMAT/GRE waiver is made at the discretion of the admissions committee. Should the committee decide that a GMAT or GRE score is needed to fully evaluate your candidacy for the MS in Management Studies program, you will be informed once your application has been initially reviewed.
