Just Add Water
Boston University’s Institute for Sustainable Energy (ISE) has received funding from the Cynthia and George Mitchell Foundation (CGMF) to identify how Texan municipal water agencies in urban environments can transition to an Integrated Urban Water Management (IUWM) model.
Population growth, increasing demand for water in an area that is already water stressed, and aging infrastructure all contribute to the need for new water management practices. ISE’s team, comprised of Dr. Jacqueline Ashmore, Dr. Margaret Cherne-Hendrick, and Victor Marttin (MBA’18), will conduct water utility financial modeling to inform stakeholders in the Texas water industry.
The Boston University Institute for Sustainable Energy, housed at the Questrom School of Business, is dedicated to facilitating the transition to a sustainable, climate-safe global energy system. Through interdisciplinary research, policy analysis, and collaborative engagement, ISE’s mission is to ensure that the energy systems of the world provide abundant, sustainable, and universally accessible energy services to both emerging and advanced economies.
