Decoding Trump’s economic plans

In an opinion-ed for Business Insider, former Federal Reserve Bank Examiner and Questrom finance Professor Mark T. Williams deconstructs presidential candidate Donald Trump’s economic policy.

Professor Williams’ observations take into perspective history, and the current economic expansion run that is ignored in Trump’s plan. He further suggests that Trumps proposal to revise the U.S. tax code assumes that tax cuts result in an economic boom, when in reality, tax cuts without compensating growth would only add to the U.S. deficit. Williams also contrasts Donald Trump’s tax policies to that of candidate Hilary Clinton’s and links immigration to economic growth.
