Pusteblume: Journal of Translation
logo

Some submission guidelines:

While we support common universal formats, we prefer Microsoft Word .DOC format for all text submissions, considering langauge and formatting compatibility.

For artwork, photography, and image submissions, we also support multiple formats, but we prefer high-resolution JPG (at least 300 dpi).

Please provide us with your e-mail address and contact information as necessary.

The original work must be attached as printable text. If the language requires special characters, please contact us to ensure readability.

Many works, especially contemporary poetry and prose, are copyrighted. It is the translator's responsibility to secure rights for republication of the original text. Only in exceptional circumstances will we publish translations without the original text.

The translation should be an original translation.

In the case of commentaries and essays, you must acknowledge the source of any translations you incorporate into your submission if the translation is not your own, along with references.

If it is part of an academic work, for example, comparing multiple translations, you may be required to have permission to reprint excerpts of translations.

Our journal requests translators to supply notes and relevant context to their translations. Please see samples in our latest issue.

Optional biography/autobiography: Additional information about the original work, its context as well as information about you, the translator, is very much appreciated.
