    The Vision & Cognition Laboratory
The Vision & Cognition Laboratory is directed by Alice Cronin-Golomb, Ph.D. The principal focus of the group's neuropsychological research is determining the factors that influence visual cognition in normal aging and age-related neurological disease. Dr. Cronin-Golomb, her students and research associates investigate perception and cognition in normal aging and a variety of neurological populations, with a special emphasis on Alzheimer's Disease and Parkinson's Disease.

The Center for Anxiety and Related Disorders
The Center for Anxiety and Related Disorders at Boston University began in August 1996 as a clinical research and training site, primarily for students in the Department of Psychology. The Center is one of the largest of its kind in North America and maintains international recognition for its specialized work in the area of anxiety and related disorders. In the pursuit of its teaching and research mission, CARD offers clinical services to patients referred from the community suffering from anxiety and related disorders (e.g., depression, eating disorders, and related somatoform and personality disorders). All of these services are either provided by, or directly supervised by, licensed mental health professionals with recognized expertise in treating these disorders. The research mission of CARD is to improve existing treatments or develop new treatments for these chronic disorders and to conduct more basic research into the nature of anxiety, depression, and related emotional disorders. This work is supported by well over $1,000,000 annually from federal funding sources. Current programs focus on the assessment and treatment of children and adolescents experiencing anxiety and panic attacks, long term strategies for treatment of panic disorder, and innovative Virtual Reality treatments for specific phobias. Many other programs, most of them funded by external sources, are also ongoing.
