My primary research area is infant and child temperament with
a focus on activity level. I am particularly interested
in etiology of individual differences in the development of
temperament, and much of my research involves the study of
twins in an effort to disentangle the contributions of genetic
and environmental factors to the development of temperament
and related behaviors. A second focus of my research
is on the measurement of temperament in childhood. Specifically,
the factors that influence the validity of parents' ratings
of their child's temperament.
