Social/Relational Difficulties: People experience a number of social or relational difficulties that may interfere with the ability to have stable, meaningful relationships with others. Some of these difficulties may include problems with assertiveness, communication skills, and trouble coping with interpersonal conflict. Problematic personal relationships can be both a cause and an effect of other psychological problems such as depression. Treatment may focus on developing interpersonal skills, as well as exploring present and past relationships and how particular roles or patterns may be affecting current difficulties.
