sandy kalik, president

Sandy hails from Portland , Oregon . She splits her academic time between her two majors, archaeology and public relations, and would ideally like to fuse the two together and curate a museum later in adultworld. As president of PRSSA, she is most excited to see the chapter grow and learn, through PRSSAgency, PRoper-ganda and this year's regional event. In addition to her PRSSA activities, she is Treasurer of BU Students for Israel (BUSI) and head of PR for butv10: TerriorVision. Her past internships have all been in non-profit, with one exception, and she's looking forward to this year's Relay for Life. Sandy 's favorite activities include watching “Grey's Anatomy,” excavating (i.e. playing in the dirt and finding buried treasure), and sleeping in.

debbie chin, vice-president

Debbie is a senior hailing from Cupertino , California . Having just returned from an exciting semester abroad in Sydney , Australia , she is interning at Fleishman-Hillard this fall and is also Vice President of the Nutrition Club. She is a a mentor with the Big Sister Association of Greater Boston and also serves on the BU Student Alumni Council. Debbie has internship stories to share from her time at Edelman, the TD Banknorth Garden and a couple of great non-profit organizations. Aside from PR, her passions include hockey, traveling and "Grey's Anatomy."

stephanie shih, secretary

Stephanie Shih is really happy to be this year's Secretary for PRSSA. She is a junior PR major originally from La Jolla , CA . She is currently interning at Allied Advertising, an advertising and PR firm. This past summer she worked at Beck Ellman Heald, a small boutique PR firm in San Diego . In addition to PRSSA, she is a Peer Advisor for the College of Communications . She looks forward to all the agency tours this year at PRSSA.

yiannis garcia, treasurer

Yiannis Garcia is originally from Puerto Rico and is now a senior at the College of Communication . Yiannis is interested in marketing, cause-branding, graphic design and multimedia communication. Currently, he is a brand awareness agent for Helio Wireless, a new wireless service provider aimed at trendy young adults craving the most advance technology in wireless communication (don't call it a phone). As an intern at Cone Inc., Yiannis works on T-Mobile's first community outreach campaign and volunteered on the Making Change for Katrina campaign this summer. Previous to his experience at Cone Inc., Yiannis worked as the media coordinator for butv10: TerrierVision, BU's first student run television network and interned at Regan Communication under their crisis management group.

heather papsun, vice-president of public relations

Heather is a proud New Jerseyan but is absolutely in love with Boston . This summer, she had an internship at a small PR agency in New Jersey and learned a lot from it. This is Heather's second exciting year with PRSSA and she is especially psyched about it. Last year, she helped clean Agganis Arena to raise $750 for our chapter, served on the Holiday Planning Committee Board, acted as the Social Chair with Christina Hernandez to plan the year-end party, and was elected as the Vice President of Public Relations. Heather strongly urges everyone, especially the younger students, to be as involved as possible. PRSSA is very rewarding in many ways. She can't wait to get to know all of the new members; she hopes you will all love PRSSA as much as she does!

shirley liu, prsa liaison

Shirley is from sunny southern California , a little town called Irvine . Yes, it is in the now infamous OC. She is currently a senior in COM, a PR major of course and Business minor. Shirley is excited to be part of the e-board my last year at BU and PRSSA will always hold a special place in her college career. Currently, she is interning for PUMA North America so if you have any interest in PR for a huge international consumer retail company, please let her know. She hopes everyone makes the most out of PRSSA this year, as the e-board is hoping to have an amazing year.

liz osaki, webwoman

Liz Osaki is a senior in COM, hailing from the central part of California . She is currently interning at the Fairmont-Copley Plaza in the Public Relations and Executive Offices. Past internships include PUMA North America , Harpoon Brewery and SHIFT Communications, a tech PR agency. Her first love is in-house/corporate PR and the Food Network, so post-graduation plans (as of September) include searching for a fabulous job in the food industry or Williams-Sonoma. Besides being the web-woman of PRSSA, a semi-active student and interning, Liz also works at Jasper White's Summer Shack. Favorites activities are awkward moments, cheese, people-watching in bars, computer gadgets and smiling - smiling's her favorite.
