Susan Lee

Master Lecturer of Social Sciences, College of General Studies

Susan Lee is a master lecturer of social sciences in the College of General Studies and author of “Rice Plus: Widows and Economic Survival in Rural Cambodia.” Susan’s research interests include women’s issues particularly in developing countries, where she has studied widows, female-supported households, women in religion and international women’s treaties. She was honored with an award for community dedication from the Khmer Buddhist Society in Fall River, MA in 2010 and was also chosen as the Dr. Ismail Sensel Outstanding Professor that same year. She is the chair of the Division of Social Sciences at CGS (2015-2017), and will serve as the chair of the International Committee of Sociologists for Women in Society through 2018. She is an ordained clergymember in the Episcopal Church and rector of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Fall River, Massachusetts. She is also commissioner of the Bristol County Commission on the Status of Women.
