Julie H. Sandell, PhD, Associate Provost for Faculty Affairs

Many of the activities within Faculty Affairs are administered by this part of the Provost’s Office, i.e., appointments and re-appointments, leaves, compensation, promotion, and recruitment. The Associate Provost oversees an experienced staff that facilitates these activities and processes these actions.

Ginny Gregory, Faculty Actions Director

Responsible for reviewing:

  • Initial appointment paperwork for ASCPs and PROFs (UAPT review materials go to Elaine Bidianos)
  • FT faculty reappointments (except for research and adjunct)
  • Non-academic leaves

Elaine Bidianos, Tenure and Promotion Coordinator

Responsible for reviewing:

  • Tenure and promotion dossiers
  • Initial appointment of ASCP or PROF dossiers (paperwork goes to Ginny Gregory)

Administrative contact:

  • UAPT Committee

Paul C. Lawrence, Payroll Specialist

Responsible for reviewing:

  • Faculty off-cycle salary increases (including per-course rate increases for PT lecturers)
  • Overbase requests forĀ staff teaching a course
  • Overbase requests for faculty teaching additional courses (per overbase rules)
  • Summer Term
  • Faculty payroll (except for SMG)

Suzanne L. Brown, Faculty Actions Research Specialist

Responsible for:

  • Affirmative action oversight
  • Search proposal process
  • Exit Survey
  • Resignation tracking
  • Faculty flux tracking

Marta Hodgkins-Sumner, Administrative Coordinator

Responsible for:

  • General administrative support to Academic Services area
  • Tracks incoming and outgoing paperwork; sends back approved paperwork to units
  • Creation of BU ID for full-time faculty
  • Faculty payroll for the School of Management
