Notable changes as of March 2013:
1. We have updated and improved the part of the Promotion Application filled out by the candidate (Part II). Please use the new form: Promotion Application PartII Revised 2-15-13
2. Only 6 “Core Letters” from external evaluators are now required for Promotion to Full Professor cases. However, all 6 must be from “arm’s length” evaluators, and there are additional requirements. Please see this memo for more information: Core Letters for Full Professor Promotions.final
Notable changes, as of January 2012:
1. Board of Trustee approval is no longer required for initial appointments, promotion, or tenure decisions.
2. Instructions regarding candidate access to reports and responses to reports have been brought into alignment with the Faculty Handbook: Candidates may request redacted reports, however the schools and colleges are free to use, or not use any responses that candidates may wish to make to these reports. Such responses are not an official part of the dossier. Only simple corrections of fact should be forwarded with the rest of the material for central review by the UAPT, the Provost, or the President. If additional elements from a “candidate’s response” are included, the unit may be asked to remove that material, which is likely to delay review of the case.
