The Office of Faculty Affairs works to ensure that every faculty member at Boston University has the appropriate rank and title, and a clear path for professional development. The Office oversees management of a variety of faculty services, including review and approval of initial hires, faculty payroll and the annual merit review/salary increase process, analysis of faculty data reports, coordination of the tenure and promotion process, maintenance of the faculty data portion of the University’s mainframe system, and oversight of the affirmative action process.
Associate Provost for Faculty Affairs Julie Sandell is the senior officer of the University responsible to the Provost for matters involving faculty, and oversees faculty recruitment, appointment, and compensation.
