African Studies Center Fall Alumni Reception

Immediately following Prof. Cooper’s talk will be our second annual Fall Feast and Reception, 5-8pm at Towers Lawn (132 Bay State Rd., Boston, MA 02215). Enjoy dinner, hors d’oeuvres, and an open bar with BU African Studies alumni and other members of our community, including faculty, staff, and students (21+). An RSVP is required for this event and can be submitted by registering on BU’s Alumni Weekend website (with suggested donation of $20, or $10 for current students). As we announced over the summer, we were saddened to learn of the sudden passing of former ASC Director John Harris. We will take this opportunity of having the ASC community together to remember his contributions and legacy in African studies and BU, and invite you to share your memories of Prof. Harris at the reception. To that end, if you wish to share any photos of John with us, please send them to Assistant Director Eric Schmidt by September 13 at ericjs@bu.edu. We would be delighted to include them in a slideshow in his memory.
