The Medieval Singer's Art: An Introduction to Liturgical Chant and Vernacular and Latin Song (9th-13th Centuries)

An introduction to the repertoire and performance practice of various genres of medieval vocal music, taught by two eminent practitioners of the art, Benjamin Bagby (Sequentia, Sorbonne) and Katarina Livljanic (Dialogos, Sorbonne). The class will be limited to 8 participants, primarily singers, although players may be accommodated depending on their instrument and whether they are also willing to sing. Musicologists and other non-performing auditors welcome.
