Suzanne C. Kennedy
Assistant Provost for Academic Affairs
Suzanne (Sue) Kennedy has been Assistant Provost at Boston University since 2000. Prior to that, she served as Assistant to the Provost and Assistant Dean of the Graduate School of Arts & Sciences. As Assistant Provost for Academic Affairs, she works closely with the Associate Provosts for Undergraduate and Graduate Affairs on issues such as the formulation and review of academic policies, review of curricula, and development of University-wide practices and procedures. Additionally, she oversees the office that conducts the selection and endorsement processes related to nationally competitive scholarships, which include the Rhodes, Marshall, Mitchell, Fulbright, Carnegie, Goldwater, Luce, Truman, and Udall scholarships.
At BU, she serves as a member of the Undergraduate Council, University Council Committee on Graduate Academic Programs and Policies, University Council Committee on Undergraduate Programs and Policies, Advising Network, HEOA Compliance Committee, Bulletin Steering Committee, Athletic Advisory Board, Religious Life Council, Security Council, Loan Policy Committee, and chairs the BU Hub Advising Satellite Committee. Sue is the mentor for BU Posse 8 and also acts as a Deputy Title IX Coordinator.
Sue is a member of the National Association of Fellowship Advisors (NAFA), a professional organization for advisors for merit-based scholarship and fellowship competitions. She is a founding member of the steering committee of the New England Higher Education Recruitment Consortium, facilitating Boston University’s participation as an inaugural member.
Sue earned her AB in Government from Smith College and her MA in History from Boston University.
