From Dr. Jean Morrison, University Provost and Chief Academic Officer
The All-University Commencement scheduled for Sunday, May 18 at Nickerson Field is just over two weeks away.
If you plan to march in the processional at Commencement, I ask that you please email firstname.lastname@example.org with your name and school/college. You should have received specific information regarding Commencement earlier this semester. Please remember that the faculty robing area is in Claflin Hall. The assembly area, meanwhile, can be reached via the walkway adjacent to 985 Commonwealth Avenue; University marshals will be in place to assist you. More detailed information regarding Commencement can be found at www.bu.edu/commencement.
Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick will deliver Boston University’s 141st Commencement Address during the Ceremony. Nancy Hopkins, MIT’s Amgen, Inc. Professor of Biology, will deliver the Baccalaureate Address earlier in the day at Marsh Chapel.
Others who will receive honorary degrees are: actress, writer, and neuroscientist Mayim Bialik; CEO and Co-founder of Boston’s City Year, Michael Brown; William H. Cosby, Jr., actor and comedian; and Rajan A. Kilachand, philanthropist and President and Chair of the Dodsal Group.
Your presence at Commencement is greatly appreciated by our graduates, their families, and friends. I hope you will join us for what promises to be a wonderful ceremony.
