Whitey Bulger trial set to begin
The trial of accused mob boss James “Whitey” Bulger is set to begin this week in Boston. The following Boston University experts are available to offer commentary, analysis, and insight on jury selection and the subsequent estimated 4-month trial.
Dick Lehr, a journalism professor in the College of Communication, was part of the 1998 Boston Globe Spotlight Team who wrote a 5-part series called “The Search for ‘Whitey’ Bulger.” His most recent book, co-written with Gerard O’Neill, also part of the Spotlight Team, is Whitey: The Life of America’s Most Notorius Mob Boss, which he talked about in a Q&A with BU Today. Pamela Hay, an Investigate Research Instructor in the Center for Professional Education at BU’S Metropolitan College, is a former special agent with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA).
