Nutrition in the New Year: Sargent Choice Nutrition Center

With more than 30,000 students, how does Boston University accomodate those with special dietary needs or restrictions?  One way is through the Sargent Choice Nutrition Center which offers individualized counseling for things like food allergies or intolerances, Celiac Disease and other medical conditions, and vegetarianism or veganism.  And, the Center helps facilitate, along with BU Dining Services, the Sargent Choice Healthy Dining Program that is designed to enhance, expand and promote healthy food options at BU.

Lisa Ferreira, a registered dietitian at the Sargent Choice Nutrition Center, discusses some of the specific ways they work with students.

Tomorrow, the series concludes with a look at what BU’s dining halls do to help address specific dietary considerations on campus, including gluten-free, dairy-free, vegan, and nut-free.
