Top Political Stories of 2011

In no particular order:

Troop Withdrawal From Iraq. Mission not accomplished, merely abandoned.

The Gabrielle Giffords Shooting. Started an American conversation about the American conversation.

The GOP Presidential Primary Debates. They drove the race, they drove the press.

Union-Busting in Wisconsin, Ohio, New Jersey. Call them right-to-whack states.

Bin Laden and Al-Awalki Killings. That mission accomplished, anyway.

Unemployment Stuck at 9%. Somebody dust off the Misery Index.

Occupy Wall Street. Er, make that Occubye Wall Street.

Budget Follies. Tough sledding on Capitol Hill – no snow.

Repeal of Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell. Do tell.

The Rise of Social Media in Politics. And the fall of Anthony Weiner.
