Lydia Diamond’s “Stick Fly” to open on Broadway

Lydia R. Diamond, assistant professor of playwriting and theatre arts at the College of Fine Arts (CFA), talks about her play Stick Fly, produced by singer Alicia Keys, that is slated to open on Broadway on December 8th.  Previews of the critically-acclaimed show, which chronicles the LeVay family and a weekend on Martha’s Vineyard where secrets are revealed, begin November 18th.

The Broadway production, directed by Kenny Leon, stars Dulé Hill as Kent “Spoon” LeVay, Mekhi Phifer as Flip LeVay, Tracie Thoms as Taylor, Ruben Santiago-Hudson as Joe LeVay, Rosie Benton as Kimber and Condola Rashad as Cheryl.
