The PRC Collectors Club provides programming for photography collectors in the greater Boston area, many of whom are already members of the Photographic Resource Center. While there are numerous opportunities in and around Boston to view exhibitions and to hear artist talks, rarely is programming designed specifically for this niche audience. The PRC Collectors Club creates a community of collectors, encouraging dialogue and networking opportunities with other members specifically about issues of importance to this community, in addition to making connections with local galleries, museums, and major photography players.

The Club meets at different photography-related institutions around Boston several times per semester. At each location, a PRC host welcomes the group and introduces the director/gallerist/curator from the host institution. Whenever possible, an artist represented in the featured exhibition also discusses his/her work, but the evenings are not considered artist talks. The PRC host--be it a board member, collector, or staff person--will facilitate discussion with the group, focusing on topics like condition reports, storage, value, reselling, materials, editions, matting and framing, etc. All events include light refreshments. Studio visits and collecting workshops may also be added as additional programming.

Per event: $35 General Public | $25 PRC Members
Online registration will be available after the New Year. To reserve a spot now, please send an email to info@prcboston.org with your name and the number of guests attending.

Karl Baden, Cambridge, MA.

Join us at Howard Yezerski Gallery to discuss Karl Baden’s new exhibit, Roadside Attraction with the artist himself and the gallery owner.

Through the shield of laminated safety glass, Baden exposes the view from his eye in Roadside Attraction. Framed by his car's perceptions, this world is wacky, quizzical, and incomprehensible. Spaces are inside out, and it takes time for your perception to settle. Where is he? What is that? Is he DRIVING? These are slow photographs; their content leaks out of those odd angles at its own pace.
