One of the most seminal figures in photography, Ansel Adams was a pioneer in the landscape genre. His iconic images of the West came to define what many perceived to be the unspoiled beauty of America's natural places. He is also known for co-developing the Zone System, a standardized method for controlling film exposure that was widely adopted by successive generations of photographers. Adams, along with other notable photographers including Edward Weston and Imogen Cunningham, co-founded the famed Group f/64.
