If you are involved in a motor vehicle accident, submit an accident report within five days to the Registry of Motor Vehicles, your insurance company, and the Police Department whose jurisdiction the accident occurred in. Please note that the Boston University Police Department will investigate motor vehicle accidents that occur on the property of Boston University. Accidents occurring on public ways, such as Commonwealth Avenue, are under the jurisdiction of the Boston Police.
