Medical Issues

You're browsing sites in the "Medical Issues" topic.

An SCI affects every system of the body, and the successful management of an SCI from new injury to decades post-injury involves understanding a significant amount of medical information. This section contains sites that explain SCI and provide comprehensive and thorough medical information. We have also included a section about medications and their side-effects, and an entire section about pain and pain management. Finally, although there is no medical 'cure' for complete recovery from an SCI, researchers are working very hard and making strides every day toward this goal. We know that keeping up-to-date on cure research is a priority for many people living with SCI, as well as their family and friends, so we have included a comprehensive section covering Research. We know there are more sites out there, but will rely on you to help us, so if you know of any good ones, please be sure to Recommend a New Site and let us know about them!
