Becoming a Trans-inclusive Clinician: A Basic Overview of Transgender Issues and Clinical Considerations
Description
Behavioral health care with gender minorities requires knowledge for creating a safe, non-judgmental, and welcoming practice. Transgender people have higher incidences of mental health, trauma, and substance abuse issues due to social and environmental factors that are necessary to address. This day-long workshop considers some of these risks and findings. Participants emerge with an understanding of mental health diagnosis evaluation, substance use findings, violence and trauma assessment, and common health concerns.
