The power of group process and membership is an amazing tool for increasing social competency for children and productivity for adults. This workshop demonstrates proven techniques and principle for harnessing the power of groups in the service of their work. Topics include an engaging curriculum for middle childhood  that creates a space of creativity, activity, reflection and mutual aid; a set of guidelines for safe spaces for adolescents to engage in reflective sharing bounded by respectful structure. The use of group for staff development purposes is a new area of exploration. How do we use staff meeting times as an opportunity for sharing motivation and elevation of best practices? Why are staff meetings often bound by a laundry list review of tasks? How can Managers develop a working group with both passion and efficacy?

Engaging in activities, trying out group structures, play based activities, group mindfulness, and multiple handouts will be used to provide a tool kit that will elevate group practices at any school, afterschool, or institution.
