Post-Graduate Certificate Program in Behavioral Health in Integrated Care - 36 CECs
With the national adoption of the Affordable Care Act and, in Massachusetts, Chapter 224 which focuses on improving care and reducing cost in health care, the fiscal and practice structures of behavioral health are undergoing a major reshaping which is intended to align with patient centered, medical home care delivery. Within the structures of emerging integrated care environments, the Certificate Program in Behavioral Health in Integrated Care will provide knowledge and competencies that are central to effective behavioral health practice.
The core areas of learning will include focus on the understanding the medical and fiscal environment and teaching competencies in assessment, collaboration, intervention, consultation, and care coordination with in pediatric, internal medicine, and family practice primary care settings. With a review of clinical practice approaches, the certificate program will emphasize the Behavioral Health Consultation Model and Focused Acceptance and Commitment Therapy developed by Patricia Robinson, Jeff Reiter and Kirk Strosahl. The learning experience will include: presentations by additional faculty in areas such as integrated psychiatry, peer partners, and trauma; didactic and experiential learning; and regular application of content to participants practice.

Format: Class meets on Thursdays from 05:30pm to 8:30pm for 12 weeks for a total of 36 hours
