CBT for Mood Disorders
Description
This workshop provides an overview of cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) with a specific focus on its use in improving mood dysregulation. An overview of theoretical frameworks that underlie CBT will be included, as well a discussion of the specific utility of CBT for mood disorders. CBT case formulation and focused teaching of CBT skills for mood disorders are covered. Topics included cognitive restructuring, generating alternative core beliefs, strategies for treating mania, behavioral activation or functional analysis, and self-monitoring. This workshop uses video, case presentations, and role play to enhance interactive integration of skills.
