Foundation in Aging and Disability Certificate Program
Description
This self-paced, online program is sponsored by the Center for Aging and Disability Education and Research at BUSSW.
Gain the knowledge and skills necessary for effective practice in the growing field of aging and disability services. Through five online courses, this 21-hour certificate provides an overview of the major elements of the aging process from a biological, psychological, social and environmental perspective; how these elements relate to the assessment process; and how to effectively utilize this knowledge in working with older adults and those with disabilities. This certificate program is indispensable for those entering the field as well as those with experience who are looking to further develop their general knowledge and skills.
Curriculum
- Course 1 - Core Training in Aging and Disabilities - 5 hours/CECs
- Course 2 - Assessment with Older Adults and Persons with Disabilities - 4 hours/CECs
- Course 3 - A Guide to the Aging Network - 4 hours/CECs
- Course 4 - Mental Health and Aging Issues - 4 hours/CECs
- Course 5 - Substance Abuse Among Older Adults - 4 hours/CECs
Cost: $450 // 21 CECs
