Personal/Private Chef Seminars


If you are looking to reinvent yourself or make a career change, why not do so as a

personal chef?

Learn how to start your own business in this series of instructional seminars covering

topics such as managing expenses, planning menus, food preparation, and service. The

seminars will also provide an introduction to professional equipment and preparing quality

foods. Students will write a business plan and learn how to start and set up a business

in terms of taxes, liability, sales, and profit.

John Vyhnanek—former executive chef at the Ritz-Carlton Boston and owner/chef of the

Harvard Street Grill—is currently a restaurant consultant and director of

Students who complete the course and business plan will receive a certificate of completion

from Boston University.
