The Research Internship in Science & Engineering is a Summer term program that provides academically motivated rising high school seniors with the opportunity to conduct university-level research in state-of-the-art laboratories, alongside some of the sharpest scientific minds in the country.
This six-week honors program provides full immersion in the laboratory environment.

Research Component Students can pursue research in the following subject areas: astronomy, biology, chemistry, engineering, medicine, physics, or psychology.

Research Interns enjoy a stimulating intellectual and social camaraderie with their peers, culminating in a scientific conference at the end of the program. Each student presents his or her research by creating a poster. In many cases, Research Interns submit their work to national science fair contests such as the Siemens Westinghouse Competition and the Intel Science Talent Search.

Additional Information Under the guidance of a Boston University research mentor, students work on an ongoing research project in a discipline of their interest, gaining valuable technical and analytical skills, as well as insight into the scientific process.
Students can pursue research in the following subject areas: astronomy, biology, chemistry, engineering, medicine, physics, or psychology.
