BOSTON MEDICAL CENTER APPOINTS NEW OBSTETRICIAN AND GYNECOLOGIST
(Boston)– Liezl G. Irisari, MD, has been appointed attending physician in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Boston Medical Center (BMC) and instructor of obstetrics and gynecology at Boston University School of Medicine (BUSM).
Irisari received her medical degree from the West Virginia University School of Medicine in Morgantown, Virginia, and completed her obstetrics and gynecology residency at Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center in Hershey, Pennsylvania.
Irisari’s research interests include antibiotic prophylaxis in laparoscopic procedures, risk factors for ectopic pregnancy failures and both medical and surgical therapies for ectopic pregnancy. Her clinical expertise is in advanced laparoscopic procedures for fibroids, endometriosis, dysfunctional uterine bleeding, pelvic pain and infertility. Irisari is also trained in minimally invasive procedures such as the diagnosis and management of pelvic organ prolapse and urinary incontinence.
Prior to her appointments at BMC and BUSM, Irisari completed a fellowship in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery, a program affiliated with the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists and the Society for Reproductive Surgeons at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Utica, NY. Irisari is a member of the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists, the Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons, the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology and the American Medical Association.
