BOSTON MEDICAL CENTER APPOINTS NEW PHYSICIAN DIRECTOR OF CANCER CLINICAL TRIALS PROGRAM
(Boston)-Brookline resident Timothy P. Cooley, MD, has been appointed to the position of physician director of the Cancer Clinical Trials Program at Boston Medical Center (BMC), and associate professor of medicine at the Boston University School of Medicine (BUSM).
Cooley received his medical degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo. He completed his internal medicine residency at Rochester General Hospital, NY, and a fellowship in hematology and oncology at the former Boston City Hospital, now BMC.
Cooley joined the faculty of Boston University School of Medicine in 1986. He was a member of the Sections of Hematology/Oncology at Boston City Hospital, the Department of Medical Oncology at Boston University Medical Center Hospital, and the Sections of Hematology/Oncology and Division of Infectious Diseases at BMC upon the merger of Boston City Hospital and Boston University Medical Center Hospital in 1996.
Cooley’s clinical interests include lung, esophageal, and head and neck cancer, as well as the treatment of malignancies in those infected with HIV.
He was previously a senior staff physician at Lahey Clinic in the department of medical oncology.
