English for Health and Medical Professionals
For the fourth consecutive year, CELOP will offer English for Health and Medical Professionals, which is designed to develop the English language skills essential for many in the health professions. Students also enroll in this popular program to prepare for study or research in a U.S. health or medical program.
Students in the English for Health and Medical Professionals Program will improve their English skills as well as their ability to interact with colleagues and patients. Class activities develop vital communication skills, such as giving effective presentations on medical topics, learning about employer/employee and doctor/patient relationships, understanding nonverbal communication and idiomatic English, and correct pronunciation and intonation. The program is enhanced by visits to local organizations, facilities, and clinics such as Boston University’s Medical School, School of Public Health, and BioSquare Laboratory.
This program is open to individuals with an advanced level of English, plus at least two years academic or professional experience in a health or medical field. Read more about this program.
