NOTICE TO PUBLIC The Boston University Police is scheduled for an on-site assessment as part of a program to achieve accreditation by verifying it meets professional standards. Administered by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc. (CALEA), the accreditation program requires agencies to comply with state-of-the-art standards in four basic areas: policy and procedures, administration, operations, and support services. As part of the on-site assessment, agency personnel and members of the community are invited to offer comments at a public information session Monday August 5, 2013 at 6:00 PM being conducted at the Conference Auditorium, 2nd Floor, George Sherman Union, 775 Commonwealth Ave, Boston MA 02215. If for some reason an individual cannot speak at the public information session but would still like to provide comments to the assessment team, he or she may do so by telephone. The public may call 617-358-6732 on Monday August 5, 2013 between the hours of 10:00 AM and 12:00 PM with comments. Comments may also be made at any time using the public feedback form on the Boston University Police website at or through the questions and feedback section of the Boston University Police “MyPD” smartphone app. Telephone comments as well as appearances at the public information session are limited to 10 minutes and should address the agency’s ability to comply with CALEA standards. A copy of the standards is available at the Boston University Police station, 32 Harry Agganis Way, Boston, MA 02215. The local contact for access to or information about the standards is Sergeant Jack St. Hilaire of the Boston University Police Department, 617-358-6732, who serves as the CALEA Program Manager. Persons wishing to offer written comments about the Boston University Police Department’s ability to meet the standards for accreditation/recognition are requested to write: Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc. (CALEA), 13575 Heathcote Boulevard, suite 320, Gainesville, VA 20155; or call (703) 352-4225 or email
