What are your primary research interests?
I am currently involved in several research programs:
- Entry timing advantages. I study the conditions under which early entry into an industry gives advantage to the early movers.
- Technology and business platforms in software and telecoms. I study how platform competition is transforming the mobile telecommunications and computing industry.
- The role of services in product industries. I study when services important for product firms, and what is the relationship between services and firm performance in product industries.
What’s been your biggest gain since coming to the School?
To become part of what is arguably the largest and most dynamic intellectual community in the world. BU is a big and full-fledged research institution and if to that you add MIT, Harvard, BC, Tufts and many others at close distance, Boston is a true research powerhouse.
