My day-to-day job responsibilities as a manager of Fixed Income Performance and Analytics desk within our department include routine performance and attribution reporting for Fixed Income, Cash and Stable Value products, assurance of reporting quality and timeliness, audit, business analysis as part of ongoing design and enhancement of processes, as well as talent management.
WHAT IS YOUR FIVE-YEAR PLAN?
My five-year plan includes completing the MSIM program and advancing my career to a broader managerial position. I like challenge and believe that constantly pushing myself outside of my professional and academic “comfort zone” is the only way to grow. To that end, I am interested in exploring the field of Islamic Finance – a relatively new, highly dynamic and under-researched area of investments that is rapidly gaining ground in the global investment arena.
WHAT MOTIVATES YOU?
Since work is such a big part of my life, I prefer to make sure it is fun. Fun to me is when it is interesting, challenging, fulfilling, and rewarding. I achieve that with growth – academic development facilitates professional growth that in turn calls for more academic growth and brings professional reward as a result. This makes my professional life fun and worth while.
DESCRIBE A SIGNIFICANT SMG TAKEAWAY.
I found SMG Career Center extremely helpful. They helped me re-think and position my experience and background uniquely and write a powerful, impeccably professional résumé. This was years ago at the time of my undergraduate studies, but the résumé strategies I learned back then have gone a long way.
