Nijhawan to Teach & Research New Models to draw Investment

Boston University School of Management announces that Vinit Nijhawan, a highly successful venture capitalist and CEO of technology startups, has joined the Institute for Technology Entrepreneurship and Commercialization (ITEC) as Lecturer and Executive-in-Residence.
Through ITEC, Mr. Nijhawan will focus his research and teaching on innovating new business models in the private equity and venture capital markets. His research interests include the analysis of current venture capital market activity as compared with other time periods and other global locations.

He will teach a graduate course, Starting New Ventures, during the spring 2008 semester. The class will focus on what makes venture capital and private equity practitioners successful.
Mr. Nijhawan has more than 20 years of experience building four startups. He was CEO of two, three were acquired, and the fourth now employs over 400 people. Recently, he spent two years as a Venture Partner at Key Venture Partners, where he sourced over 200 deals and made one investment.

Mr. Nijhawan is an advisor and board member to several technology startups and was a Mass High Tech All-Star in 2005. He has participated in more than 100 panel discussions and paper presentations, and is Chairman of TiE-Boston and a Board of Trustee member of TiE Global, a non-profit that fosters entrepreneurship globally. Mr. Nijhawan earned a B.A.Sc in electrical engineering from the University of Waterloo in Ontario, Canada.
