Wayne Serra ('97) of Ulmer & Berne, Cleveland, has been appointed Vice Chair of the Standards Setting Committee, Antitrust & Competition Law Division, of the Intellectual Property Owners Association (IPO).
IPO is a trade association for owners of patents, trademarks, copyrights and trade secrets. It is the only association in the U.S. that serves all intellectual property owners in all industries and all fields of technology.
Serra is a registered patent attorney and software engineer who practices in the areas of intellectual property creation and enforcement, with emphasis on software and computing devices. He has represented several of the top US patent filers and has also counseled mid-sized and emerging companies on a wide variety of intellectual property matters, including enforcement of intellectual property rights, strategic portfolio advice, and the valuation, management, and monetization of intellectual property portfolios. He previously served as Senior Intellectual Property Counsel for a medical imaging system manufacturer that is one of the top 200 companies in the Fortune Global 500.
