Megan Foscaldi ('13) and Andrew Flippo ('13) win first annual BU Law Transactional Negotiation Meet
2Ls Megan Foscaldi ('13) and Andrew Flippo ('13) won the first annual BU Law Transactional Negotiation Meet, and will represent the University in the invite-only regional competition in Feb., 2012.
Sponsored by the Earle Mack School of Law at Drexel University, the Transactional LawMeet series is intended to provide law students with the opportunity to gain hands-on experience with transactional law. Competitors will be given their "problem packets" in Dec., and are charged with drafting a term sheet on behalf of their hypothetical clients.
The Northeast regional round will be held at the Western New England College School of Law on Feb. 17. On the day of the competition, teams will compete in three rounds while representing their same clients, and will be judged by two experts from transactional law practices on factors of professional persona and interaction, understanding of objectives and issues, success of achieving the clients' objectives, and the quality of the term sheet. The two highest scoring teams will be invited to participate in the Transactional LawMeet finals on March 29th and 30th in Philadelphia.
3Ls Anna Katz ('12) and Darian Butcher ('12) were named runners-up in the BU Law competition.
