Carla M. Moynihan ('95) named lecturer on law, New England School of Law

Robinson & Cole Real Estate Partner Carla M. Moynihan is a new
lecturer on law at the New England School of Law. Ms. Moynihan joined the school’s adjunct faculty for the spring 2011 semester, where she is teaching contracts drafting.

Ms. Moynihan’s course, for law students in their last semester of school, focuses on developing students’ transactional drafting skills, with the goal that they will be prepared to start drafting contracts when they begin working after graduation.

“With the current challenging job market for new attorneys, I am excited to have this opportunity to teach contracts drafting, a skill that every attorney needs to hit the ground running in the practice of law,” said Ms. Moynihan. “I look forward to being able to share examples of some of the major real estate transactions I’ve handled over 15 years to help give the lessons context and interest.”

Ms. Moynihan has handled numerous commercial real estate transactions that she will draw on to illustrate the practical application of class lessons. Two of those include transactions in the Massachusetts Bay area. One concerned a public-private partnership mixed-use development project in Revere, Massachusetts for a real estate developer involving the City of Revere, the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority, and the Department of Conservation and Recreation. The other concerned a 75-year ground lease negotiation involving 40 acres of industrial property in South Boston owned by the Massachusetts Port Authority, which she handled on behalf of a local real estate developer.

Ms. Moynihan has been listed in Massachusetts Super Lawyers® in the area of Real Estate Law since 2009 (Super Lawyers is a registered trademark of Key Professional Media, Inc.). Additionally, she is AV® Preeminent Peer Review Rated in Martindale-HubbellTM in the areas of Real Estate, Land Use, Environmental Law, Government, and Transportation (Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Ratings is a trademark. AV Preeminent is a certification mark of Reed Elsevier Properties, Inc.). She received her J.D., with honors, from Boston University School of Law and her B.A. from Connecticut College. She also received the Boston University School of Law’s Young Lawyer’s Chair Award. Ms. Moynihan is admitted to practice in Massachusetts and Connecticut.
