Edwards Angell Palmer & Dodge Admits Five Attorneys to Partnership and Promotes Two to Position of Counsel
The law firm of Edwards Angell Palmer & Dodge (EAPD) is pleased to announce five new partners and the promotion of two attorneys to the position of counsel. New partners include LeeAnn Baker, John Lloyd, Louis Mercedes, Antonio Suarez-Martinez and Mark Voses, while Brian Green and Brian Pollack have been named counsel. The new positions took effect on Jan. 1, 2011.
LeeAnn Baker is a member of the Real Estate department and is based in Boston. She represents institutional lenders, landlords, tenants and developers in a wide range of real estate matters. In particular, her practice focuses on leasing, financing and acquisition of commercial real estate. LeeAnn frequently represents high-tech and biotech companies in the acquisition, development and leasing of laboratory, R&D and administrative facilities as well as more traditional landlords and tenants in the leasing of multi-tenant buildings. LeeAnn regularly works with regional and national institutional lenders in real estate financing transactions secured by a wide array of property types.
John Lloyd is a member the Intellectual Property practice and based in Southampton, UK. He is involved in a diverse range of life sciences matters, particularly in the fields of microbiology, molecular biology and biochemistry. John's portfolio also includes medical and surgical device work and basic chemistry. His clients include individual inventors, universities, international attorneys, spin-out companies and international corporations throughout the world.
Louis Mercedes is a member of the Business Law department in Boston. He concentrates on corporate finance, private equity and fund formation. Louis has represented investors in private equity and venture capital financings, mergers and acquisitions, and a variety of complex business transactions. On the finance side, Louis has experience representing banks and financial companies in connection with loan transactions in the radio and television broadcasting, cable television, publishing and other media industries. Highly active in the firm's Latin American practice, he has assisted clients in a number of advisory capacities with respect to investments and compliance in the region.
Antonio Suarez-Martinez is a member of the Litigation practice in London. He acts for a broad range of clients with respect to large-scale commercial disputes (both in court and arbitration). He also advises clients on matters related to asset recovery and anti-corruption, as well as reputation-management issues. Antonio trained with the firm and qualified into the commercial litigation team in September 2002.
Marc Voses is a member of the Insurance & Reinsurance department and is located in New York. He advises insurers and reinsurers on issues involving coverage, claims handling, and bad faith/extra-contractual claims. He regularly represents insurers in state and federal courts in matters related to policies issued to directors and officers, professionals, public companies, and medical and financial institutions, and in complex commercial litigation. Marc has also represented clients facing investigations by attorneys general in New York and Connecticut.
Brian Green is a member of the Firm’s Insurance & Reinsurance practice in New York. He focuses on various aspects of the (re)insurance industry. He advises insurers on issues of coverage, claims handling, and bad faith claims, and he represents ceding companies and reinsurers in arbitrations. Brian also represents corporate clients in commercial litigation.
Brian Pollack is a member of the Intellectual Property department and is based in Stamford, Conn. He has experience in patent infringement litigation, patent preparation and prosecution, product clearance, freedom-to-operate analyses, due diligence, and patent interference matters. He has had extensive experience working with software and business methods, mechanical and medical devices, semiconductor device manufacturing technologies, polymer technology, and analog circuits.
