What is Pie in the Sky?
Thanksgiving wouldn’t be complete without a homemade pie, too tasty to refuse even after all that turkey and stuffing. Pie in the Sky lets you buy freshly-baked pies for your Thanksgiving table while enjoying the true spirit of the holiday—helping those in need!
Pie in the Sky is your chance to treat your guests to a wonderful pie from one of Greater Boston’s best bakers while helping Community Servings prepare and deliver nutritious meals to 750 individuals and families ill with HIV/AIDS, cancer, Lupus, MS and other acute, life threatening illnesses.
Thousands of pies are donated each year by hundreds of Greater Boston’s favorite bakers, restaurants and caterers (check out Supporters on http://www.pieinthesky.org/acamio for a list of bakers). This year we are aiming to sell over 13,000 pies, and we need your help!
Over 500 people are selling pies right now all over Eastern Massachusetts. Pies can be picked up the day before Thanksgiving at one of 45 retail sites. Check out the Pick-up Site Locator on the site to find the location most convenient for you.
A Sweet Deal
Choose from Apple (diabetic apple option too!), Pecan, Pumpkin, and Sweet Potato pies. Each pie is just $25. You could buy another for less, but you won’t find one that feeds more—the pie you buy for your family will provide a week’s worth of nutritious, home-delivered meals for a Community Servings client. Each pie makes a difference in the life of someone too ill to shop or cook for themselves.
For the big spenders, there are Special Raffle Pies. These gift-wrapped, apple pies are $75 a piece and include a chance to win one of ten fabulous prizes packages including a night in Cambridge, a Bose Acoustic Wave Music System, a Boston sports package, a Timeshare, and many more fabulous prizes.
If you don't want pie, consider buying a pie for a Community Servings client!
Community Servings delivers 750 meals a day to individuals and families ill with HIV/AIDS, cancer, Lupus, MS and other acute life-threatening illnesses. Those too sick to shop or cook for themselves or their families are able to have nutritious meals delivered directly to their door along with a smiling face—and the message that someone cares.
The Easy Part
So, come on! It couldn't be simpler—a great pie for a great cause! Think about how satisfying a nice piece (or two!) of pie will be on Thanksgiving Day, knowing that you have helped others. Now that’s a reason to give thanks!
Thank you in advance for supporting this very worthy cause!
