John J. Maalouf (B.S. ’90, LL.M. ’94) to Speak at The Oil Council’s Americas Assembly
John J. Maalouf (B.S. ’90, LL.M. ’94) will give a talk titled “The Future of Energy Banking” at The Oil Council’s 2010 America's Assembly in New York City from October 26-28.
As one of the major energy and finance events of the year, the assembly will be attended by leading industry experts from the international oil and gas, finance, and investment communities. The Americas Assembly will explore how executives can successfully navigate the present economic climate, access today’s capital markets, and seize the business and investment opportunities they now possess.
Maalouf will speak alongside Tom Petrie, Vice Chairman of Bank of America Merrill Lynch, and Lance Crist, Global Head of Oil and Gas for the IFC/Word Bank.
Maalouf is a senior partner at Maalouf Ashford & Talbot, splitting his time between the New York and Hong Kong offices. He concentrates in international trade and finance law; corporate and securities law; mergers and acquisitions; investment funds; and energy, oil, and gas law. In the past, he represented a western oil and gas company in connection with the construction of offshore drilling platforms and related facilities in the South China Sea as well as an international energy company in the $1.2 billion (US) sale of its energy operations in Western Africa, including gas concessions and a natural gas processing facility.
