David Harlow (’87, MPH ’89) awarded 2010 Rx for Excellence
The Massachusetts Medical Law Report named David Harlow (’87, MPH ’89) a 2010 Rx for Excellence Award winner in the “Heroes from the Field” category. He will be honored at an awards ceremony on September 24 in Boston.
Harlow is a health care attorney and the founder of The Harlow Group in Newton. The Harlow Group specializes in health care law and consulting and handles a variety of issues including those involving diagnostic imaging; regulatory and transactional counsel to institutional providers; physicians, clinics, and community health centers; Medicare Advantage and managed care; emergency medical services; and legislative strategies. He is also the author of HealthBlawg, which had been named to the ABA Journal Blawg 100 earlier this year.
Before founding The Harlow Group, Harlow was a partner in the health law practice at Posternak Blankstein & Lund. Prior to that, he served as Deputy General Counsel of the Massachusetts Department of Public Health. Over the years, his legislative counsel has yielded numerous changes to Massachusetts law.
The third annual Rx for Excellence Awards recognize individuals in Massachusetts health care that demonstrate the highest standards in risk management, regulatory compliance, safety, and quality.
