Demonstration of the News Content Management System

rule

Many departments publish news and announcements on their homepages. They generally add, remove, and archive those announcements manually. To automate this process and to provide some additional functionality, we have developed a Content Management System (CMS) that departments can use to publish their news and announcements. Using this system, you can:

  • Create topics and subtopics to assign news items to.
  • Create, edit, categorize, publish, and manage news items.
  • Set up your homepage to accept an automated feed of news headlines.

  • Serve your news items in the look and feel of your site.
  • Automatically build a searchable archive of all your news.

This system is ready to use now. I have scheduled two demonstrations for next week and invite you to attend. For specific dates and times, and to sign up for a session, please go to:

http://www.bu.edu/webcentral/training/demo

I look forward to seeing you there.

This is a busy time for everyone. If you are interested but unable to attend, don’t worry. We will schedule additional demonstrations at a later date.
