On October 26 Professor Scott Schaus, Chemistry's Director of Graduate Studies, announced that the recipient of the first BUWIC travel award is Sujata Bardhan. The award is generously sponsored by the Boston University Center for Chemical Methodology and Library Development (CMLD-BU). The award is unrestricted, making all BUWIC members eligible. Sujata is a fifth year student in Professor John Porco's group and is the current president of BUWIC. She will use the travel funds to attend the March 2007 National Meeting of the American Chemical Society where she will give a talk on her research.
